Artist's Statement

New Artist Statement:

Crafts are the key to my lock that opened the world to what art is to me. Starting with a knitting machine and sewing machine, I transformed knits into sweaters, blankets, holiday stockings and I transformed fabric into curtains, garments and more. Today, both leading me from hobbies to art - working with computer graphics using imagery, pictures, color and typography in which add detail to my art.

“An idea is a point of departure and no more. As soon as you elaborate it, it becomes transformed by thought. ”
As a designer, I enjoy being creative with ideas, a way to figure things out and solve problems. The process of investigating an idea is just as important as the final product that I create. My life experiences drive my creative impulses and what I create define the meaning of life. I am inspired by Representational Art consisting of real and recognizable person, place, and things including the use of photographs depicting visual stimulation. I do like some abstract art depicting the use of colors bringing out emotions. Color is also an important aspect in my designing projects where it affects my emotions (mood), and in turn helps me to create what I do.

Original Artist Statement:

As a designer, I have always enjoyed being creative with ideas that I just think about. I like to utilize these ideas and create art that others would find useful. For example, when creating websites, logos and package designs it is a goal to help companies to stand out in their marketing. It is important to me when analyzing my thoughts and writing them down, then transferring them into works of art.
Art is affected by my mood, and it is influenced by visual cues. Color affects my mood and in turn helps me create what I do. Color is an important aspect in my designing projects. I feel that color helps create the websites, logos and package designs that help bring a message to a targeted audience. Color stimulates, and sets an intended mood of art through color choices. The use and placement of color causes reactions and it is a communication tool to influence what and how I design.
